James Poirier, PFP, TP
Jim Poirier is a registered tax preparer with the state of California. He has 25 years of experience in the financial field with an emphasis on tax preparation and financial planning. He holds licenses in financial planning, securities, insurance, real estate brokerage and appraising. Jim's wide range of experience and expertise and understanding not only allows him to maximize your deductions, but also to provide you with sound advice on all areas that affect your finances.
Jim has been part of the La Jolla community since 1964, when he arrived as a member of the first class at UCSD. Prior to becoming a tax professional, Jim taught chemistry at La Jolla High School. He lives in the Wind'n'Sea area of La Jolla and is passionate about ocean swimming. In addition to swimming, he fishes several times a year in Baja California. Otis Benton, MBA, CFP
Otis Benton is a high-energy, resourceful hands-on person who can quickly grasp and resolve difficult tax situations across a broad spectrum of issues. Otis has worked as an accountant in a variety of business settings such as biotechnology research and software development as well as for non-profit organizations. His extensive experience in accounting, finance, contract administration and human resources will allow Otis to develop the best tax strategy for your business and personal accounts.
Otis received his MBA from UCLA and also holds certificates of Financial Planning and Government Contract Management. He is proficient with various accounting software programs, including Quickbooks, Lacerte and Peachtree.
Otis has been an active part of the La Jolla community for over 40 years. In addition to refereeing youth soccer matches, he is an avid runner and swimmer. Otis is married to Sandy and has two daughters, Erin and Amy and an amazing dog named Panda.
